Lars, there are developers that work night and day on the eyeos project (and receive nothing but a small name mention in eyeInfo) while OTHER developers get weekly/monthly paychecks for doing just as much work. That's completely unfair!

Also, I can't help but notice MySkyTop doesn't have ANY ways to make money (not even website ads!)

For others: The eyeos project is totally free and the eyeos company gives support for it - just as many other free projects.

PS: Thanks for striking that one part of this article. I'm okay with the rest, it's correct.

And what's the point? eyeos is a company, and like every company, it makes money. Why would someone work on eyeos 1.x (or any other version) for free?

Hey, Lars here (from the eyeos team)…

Yes, MySkyTop is not illegal and we never said, that we don't like it 'cause might lost money (we won't, I'm sure ). We simply don't like to break a community. We always told the MySkyTop founders, that they can help in eyeos 1.x, but they simply did not want it. I don't understand why, so we guess it's 'cause of their names.

But if you all say, that MySkyTop is that much better, please tell me/us, why! MySkyTop is a simple eyeos system with a new theme and no other changes (for now!).

And finally I want to announce, that eyeos 1.9 preview is on the way. It will come with lots of major improvements: A new taskbar allows the users to use it the way they need it. The “mini” applications will stay in an own layer, which does not minimize. Does not minimize? Yes! It will be possible to minimize all your windows by one click! And finally there are many more improvements… Oh: A new theme with many helpful effects. But eyeos is more than a theme .

PS: OUR project has an open Subversion for all guys, who are interested… I'm waiting for the one of MySkyTop…

Illegal fork? MySkyTop follows all of the license's rules. eyeos doesn't agree with the fork because they won't make money off of it.

It looks this is an illegal fork of eyeos, look eyeos.org and eyeos.info for live demo. They discussed with eyeos team to be official 1.x branch and eyeos team denied it so they illegally forked.

Addictivetips should be more careful with this kind of things
