OST files, unlike PST, are the duplicate copy of user’s Exchange Mailbox which is linked to a particular Exchange mailbox and cannot be used with any other mailbox. Administrators however tend to keep the these Exchange mailbox of users at remote location but there is no way to determine which mailbox possesses the offline data in which OST files and which do not?
This can be confusing, thus wasting the administrators productivity at work. Offline Folder Report is a tool developed for the exact purpose. Administrators can now see who is using OST files easily. It is developed by Chily, the same folks behind the previously reviewed User Management app.
Administrators need to enter the name of host Exchange Server along with the logon credentials in order to generate the Offline Folder Report. Once the report is generated, it will list the users who are using OST files and those who are not using it for their mailbox communication.
It also generates the errors that occurred while searching fort OST and non-OST users. To generate a report in CSV format, navigate to OST Users, Non-OST Users, or Errors tab and hit Save.
Please note to run the applications as administrator in both Windows Vista and Windows 7. It also works on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows 2008 Server. It can generate report from Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, and Outlook 2010.
