It can be a daunting task when you require sorting and arranging images from numerous dates and events. In such a case, a better alternative to tedious manual sorting is to use an application that can arrange your images automatically, according to available EXIF data. Photo Event Organizer is one such application for automatically arranging photos. It sorts all images in a single directory, with separate sub-folders containing images according to year, month, day and event.
To start organizing your photos, select a folder and click Find Events. Once done, all images in the folder will be sorted according to their precise date. To save changes click Organize.
This will open a new window where you can specify a destination folder to copy or move the photos. You can also enable timestamp and copying/moving of duplicate files. Click Organize to proceed further.
A new folder will be created with all images sorted in separate directories, according to date year, month, day and event. For example, when you click the year folder, you will be able to see other folders labeled according to month, clicking a month folder (e.g., July) will display other sub-folders labelled according to events (e.g. Event 1, Event 2, etc).
Photo Event Organizer works on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
