Amazon.com is unarguably the most popular retail company across world wide web, and often offers various price discounts and other hot deals, from time to time? If you often miss out on their hottest deals, with Prices Drop Monitor for Amazon for Windows and Mac, you won’t skip them anymore. The tool is designed to keep track of prices for your selected products in the e-tail giant’s ever-increasing product catalogue, and automatically notify you if there’s an increase or decrease in the price. Furthermore, you don’t need to have an Amazon account to use this tool, as all you need is to drag the product’s description page URL over the application window, and it will start monitoring it. In addition, it provides Recommended and New products in separate sections, along with categories such as Unavailable, Dropped, Increased and All. The program silently sits in the system tray, letting you bring up the monitoring window with a click. More details after the jump.
All the aforementioned product categories are available on the left side of the application window. To get started, open the product’s description page in a web browser and drag its web link over the application. The All section enlists all the products that you have ever added into the application. The Recommended section holds the products (that most certainly are), recommended by different Amazon customers. If a product goes out of stock from Amazon’s inventory, it moves the product to the Unavailable products section. Along with the price drop, the tool also notifies you if there’s any price bump on the added products and moves them accordingly to their respected sections. Finally, any recently added product is appeared under the New section.
All the items in your wish list show their new and old price along with the best price you can get. Also available is the retailer name who is actually selling the product. Finally, you can click Show on Amazon button to open its description page in default web browser.
By default, the program runs at system startup, you can disable it however, by heading to the Preferences console. Here, you can also specify time intervals between price checks.
The application is available for both Windows and Mac OS X. The Windows variant works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. Both 32-bit and 64-bit OS editions are supported.
