Gridy is a useful little utility for Windows that can snap in any window into an invisible grid. When you run this tool, it will sit silently in the system tray and add the invisible grid to the desktop. Now when you resize or move the window across the screen, it will snap into the grid.
There are a bunch of hotkeys that lets you do the task without using the mouse, you can move/resize active window and snap it to grid, store size of active window, resize active window to stored size, minimize all windows except the active one, and much more. To see the full list of features along with their hotkeys, double-click the system tray icon.
Apart from the snap feature, you can also add transparency to the active window, toggle Alt-Tab icon for active window, and always remain on top of other active windows.
Toggle Always On Top
You can set different options by right-clicking the system tray icon. You will find options for Grid size, Transparency percentage, Disable key, and Modifier key.
It is quite a useful tool for those users who want to place their active windows in grids. Placing multiple windows in different grids allows you to work more easily on all of them, thus increasing the overall productivity. You can also enabled Always On Top feature in more than one window.
It works on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Enjoy!
