WinEmPower is a freeware portable tool that can automatically detect the settings of both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 and allow anyone to tweak them quickly. All useful settings are given on the main interface categorized in four sections; EmPower, Optimize, Disable, and Enable.
Under EmPower, you can enable/disable GodMode, Launch with PowerShell, Launch with Command Prompt, Take Ownership, and Open with Notepad. Under Optimize, you can enable/disable Wait to kill applications timeout, Wait to kill services timeout, Applications response timeout, low level hooks timeout, and menu show delay. Under Disable, you can disable AutoReboot on crash, Remote registry access, Task scheduler, Windows defender, and User Account Control. Under Enable, you can enable Auto End Tasks, Desktop Composition, and Sidebar when UAC is disabled.
Oh wait, did I just mention every option?
Moving the mouse pointer over each option will show it’s description, and in some cases, an advice. Also it will let you know if enabling or disabling each option requires a reboot or not.
After you are done with the tweaking and optimization, don’t forget to hit Apply. In case the world comes to an end, there is always Restore.
It is developed exclusively for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. On launch, it will automatically detect the OS and the settings.
