It works flawlessly for some. That narrows the problem to servers. I'm not convinced because other clients work with ease on all my servers. This makes a huge difference to the speed of FileZilla up/downloads. But WinSCP has some benefits too like you are able to edit Apache config file using build-in editor and then you can save it instantly, it saves the headache of having to use Putty. So I am using both these tools. :) FileZilla is the most widely used FTP client, there is no question about that.
