As technology convergence takes place rapidly, file conversion is becoming more and more essential for users relying on smartphones, tablets, PCs and other handheld devices. Often you end up with limited rights barring you from installations in places like your office. In the meantime, you find a track that must be admitted to your playlist in your MP3 player or phone, immediately. In situations like these, FlicFlac guides you to the solution. It doesn’t require any installation, downloads instantly and operates easily. Moreover, it supports FLAC, WAV, MP3, OGG and APE formats with custom bit-rates and quality. A simple user interface supporting drag-and-drop and audio file selection for conversion equips you with all the necessary resources required to fulfill your needs with a click.
FlicFlac is a lightweight audio conversion utility that doesn’t take too much of memory while converting between lossless and lossy audio formats. All you need is to make use of the conversion capabilities of the application. The executable file loads the program having negligible impact on the performance of your system. You can convert WAV files to FLAC, MP3, OGG or APE. Similarly, FLAC files can be converted to WAV, MP3, OGG or APE. The format conversion is applicable to each of the conversion output selections. In addition, MP3 files can also be converted to MP3 outputs with required bitrates.
You can either drag audio files over the relevant space in the main window or select the desired path by browsing for the file. Remember, the conversion option (like to FLAC) must be selected before specifying the file through either of the two methods, mentioned. The output is saved in the source path while giving you the flexibility to retain or delete the input file. Customizations can be applied to the program by clicking the settings button at the bottom right corner of the active window. Uncheck the Always on top feature, at the bottom of the window to keep the application window at the top, over other opened windows.
To specify MP3 presets, enable/disable shell integration or other details about the input file or conversion, open the Settings console. The MP3 Presets allows you to select the desired quality of the output (for example, CD/Studio/VBR qualities) including the freedom to specify a custom bitrate.
In conclusion, FlicFlac is a small yet beneficial addition to your system’s capabilities. We tested this utility on Windows 7, 64-bit edition. It also supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
