ICS Based CM9 ROM Out For The HTC One X

The HTC One X gets CyanogenMod 9 ROM! One of the best Android phones out there right now, the device just got one of the best ROMs a Android phone could ask for. As in the case of almost every other CM9 ROM available for various Android handsets out there, this release for the One X is an experimental build as well. CyanogenMod 9 Music App Released For Android ICS Devices

The final build of the CyanogenMod 9 custom ROM for Android might still be in the pipelines but users have been receiving small piece of its awesomeness at frequent intervals. First, it was the alpha version of the ROM itself, then a taste of its native launcher (Trebuchet Launcher), and now it’s the official CyanogenMod 9 Music app that has been released by the developer Andrew Neal on his website. The music player is currently available for devices running CM9 or Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and higher. It has an ICS-style default interface, but comes with the option to download and apply skins, one of which replicates the looks of Google Music. Other highlights of the player include the option to purchase and delete tracks from within the app, customizable status bar UI, gesture and motion controls, multiple attractive animations for transitions between tracks, comprehensive set of sound enhancement options (including a 5-band equalizer), and ICS-style homescreen widgets in multiple sizes. Official CM9 ROM For Galaxy S II [Experimental] [Download]

The Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 gets CyanogenMod 9 based on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. ICS for the Galaxy S II seems quiet far away, and by that we mean, a stable ROM, be it custom or official. After a lot of ICS based ROMs surfaced for the SGS II, all which are buggy and incomplete (by no means do we undermine the efforts put into the releases by developers), it is good to see something coming in straight from CyanogenMod itself. The recent CM9 release, like the many custom ROMs before it, is a highly experimental build, that is in no way recommended to be used as a daily driver. According to the forum thread, we’re looking at a functional build of CM9 in either January or February, but heck, Android enthusiasts are never up for waiting. Read More

The Nexus S gets it’s first taste of CM9, the ICS based AOSP ROM! ICS ports are all the rage right now, and the team at CyanogenMod went underground to work on their new CM9, thus keeping things a wee bit. Guess what? Koush, the guy who made ClockworkMod recovery and ROM Manager possible, is working on the CM9 project for the Nexus S, and he has released his build to the users for some early testing. The ROM, still in an Alpha stage, is said to be stable enough to be used as a daily driver. Apparently almost everything seems to be working just fine, and if a few bugs do exist, the ROM is in Alpha 11 of its stage, so bear with it if you do want to give it a go. Read More
