HTC Sensation is the dual core Android beauty that has managed to capture a massive owner-base within months of its initial release. However some HTC Sensation owners have come across a strange screen unresponsive issue that has no software remedy available. The users who got this issue with their Sensation tried everything possible, from ROMs to patched, but it just doesn’t go away. Senior XDA Member, Zmfl, is now out with a simple fix that basically tinkers with problematic placement of “a small silver pin”. The silver pin is basically phone’s “grounding” connection with back cover and it eventually starts losing proper contact with the phone. Once the screen loses connection with back cover, you will notice elevated unresponsiveness on your phone. We don’t know if we can place this under the category of “bad engineering / designing”, but with so many users getting affected due to this little thing; its “bad” after all!

A dual-core phone running at 1890Mhz sounds a bit crazy no? Not really, we’re talking Android here! And the beautiful hardware that is the HTC Sensation 4G. RootzWiki forum member TheDerekJay
has recently released a custom kernel for the device, named demonspeed
. While there are a few other features at hand, the most notable feature is the kernel’s overclocking ability taking the two CPU cores to a massive 1.89Ghz
! While most may find the overclock useless, we are increasingly finding mobile phones fighting it out with some benchmarks just like Desktop computers. Why? Just to show that it can be done.
No Android device is truly an Android till it has been rooted, something iPhone users refer to as jailbreaking. HTC Sensation 4G is HTC’s hottest Android device as of right now, and in the hands of experienced Android users, it is easily one of the best phones out there. Earlier we covered a guide on gaining S-Off on the Sensation 4G and consequently the installation of ClockworkMod recovery on the device. While there have been temporary roots that have gone around the internet for this device in the past, XDA-Developers forum member ikhzter has put a guide on how to go about gaining permanent root on the Sensation 4G. This root will stick on reboots so no need to worry about loosing root upon reboots. Read More
Earlier we covered a guide on how to gain S-Off on the HTC Sensation 4G via Revolutionary. has put up a nifty little guide and provided us with the ClockworkMod recovery 4 image in a zip flashable file to install on the Sensation 4G with ease.
Things are moving pretty fast for HTC Sensation after Revolutionary set it’s bootloader free from HTC’s shackles. Xboarder56, Recognized XDA Developer, is in the process of porting AOSP Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on S-OFF’d and rooted HTC Sensation. So far the development isn’t much of a discussion point with only Wi-Fi and Screen working. But with able devs like Xboarder, T-Junk and redbullcat already in the process of completing the port, we believe that 2.3.5 will soon get implemented on Sensation in it’s true spirit. Read More
We have been reporting continuously regarding post S – OFF mods and hacks for HTC Sensation. And as of today, the popular Virtuous ROM has an edition that can be flashed on HTC Sensation and Sensation 4G. The ROM , like CyanogenMod, has gathered some pretty large loyal user base owing to the fact that a Virtuous ROM for every compatible device is always rock stable and fast. And the best things about this ROM is that it isn’t an unofficial port and nearly everything, as per the developers, works great.
In case you are an HTC Sensation owner and are now S – Off with root and CWM recovery, then you seriously need this! Killahurtz, XDA senior member, has released a modified GTalk 1.3 Version that comes with video chat. Another awesome thing regarding this mod is that you don’t need to be connected over a Wi-Fi connection to initiate video chats as it’s optional. The mod is basically a present to XDA community from Killahurtz in celebration of his 400th post on the forums.
Although HTC has promised to unlock HTC Sensation bootloaders in the future (along with those of many other of their devices) due to popular demand from the user community (and the potential threat of many users switching to other vendors for their next devices if HTC refuses to do so), many users aren’t in the mood to wait till September for this one thing. Apparently, creators of AlphaRev unlock tool for bootloader locked HTC Devices have managed to unlock HTC Sensation bootloader with their new tool AlphaRevX. Read on to learn more and watch the video.
Although HTC announced unlocked bootloaders for HTC Sensation, we still have to see any materialistic or seeable development in this regard from HTC. The quest for gaining permanent root privileges on HTC Sensation is gathering pace as there are developers who are trying really hard to make their temp root stick for a while. The latest effort in this regard came from Android Spin Forums senior member Eugene, who has released a “Permanent Temp Root a.k.a Perma Temp Root” that sticks while you hack away bloatware and install stuff needing SU and busybox without the fear of them getting deleted.
