View Details Of All Installed Network Adapters With This Nirsoft Tool

Nirsoft utilities are great for their simplicity, portability, minimalism and focus on getting one thing done well with each utility rather than bundling a ton of different features in one large app, and its these characteristics that make us keep coming back to review the developer’s latest releases. View A Log Of All Actions Performed On Your PC With LastActivityView

Spending more than the better part of the day in front of the computer has become quite common for most avid computer users. During these sessions, people open a lot of different applications, install new ones, uninstall the redundant ones and move data from one place to another. Sometimes, the number of activities we perform on the computer in one session is so high that it becomes impossible to remember everything that we did. Nirsoft has just released an application called LastActivityView, which allows you to view all the actions performed on a PC.  What makes it different from other file/folder activity monitoring applications is that you don't need to run it in the background to monitor the activities, instead it automatically fetches useful information from Event Viewer & Windows log files, and organizes it into readable form. You can even check which Dynamic Link Libraries were used to perform one specific function, and how often an app calls system files and libraries. It lets you view the recently accessed files, folders and applications and other recently performed operations including shutdown or restart the system, open a network connection etc. Read More

Monitor Any Folder Or Disk Drive For Changes In Real-Time, Even Across Networks

If one of your drives (or a particular folder) is being shared over your network, then you must have had some sort of need to keep an eye on it – tracking which files are moving in and out, being renamed, copied, or simply deleted. Windows 7 (or any of its predecessors) don't offer monitoring feature on a particular drive or folder on your PC. This, however, can be easily achieved via third-party tools, such as the recently covered TheFolderSpy for Windows, Integra System Monitor (full review), and another tool labeled DaemonFS (click here for review). What such tools do is monitor any specified directory on the computer, and let you know of the changes being made within. FolderChangeView, developed by NirSoft, aims to provide the same facility. If you aren’t already familiar with NirSoft, the developer is known for creating ultra light yet highly efficient and reliable tools for Windows operating system, and that’s the reason we have covered several of their tools in the past. This new portable application facilitates you in monitoring a folder or disk drive, and enlists the files and their details that are being modified by the user or the OS itself, in real-time. You may use it to monitor both local or network drives, and as is the norm with Nirsoft, the interface is very minimalistic and simple. Details to follow shortly. Read More

Download RTMP Flash Video Streams Using RTMPDumpHelper For Windows

RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) is a protocol for streaming audio, video and data over the internet. It takes the data from the server streaming the content, and sends it to the user’s computer running a flash player in the browser. Websites like YouTube use the normal HTTP streaming, while other websites, such as Hulu and Twitch.tv, use RTMP for streaming videos to the users. RTMP is different from HTTP in the sense that while HTTP streaming is done in a way that you put your file on an HTTP server, and any user can download and watch it, using RTMP for streaming, people can watch videos at the same time that they are being recorded. Another advantage of RTMP over HTTP is that it is much harder to steal or download a video over RTMP than over the regular HTTP stream. This is the reason why RTMP is one of the most famous protocols being used nowadays to provide protected content for the users. It is not possible to download videos from a website with RTMP streaming using programs such as Real Downloader and Orbit Downloader. If you are looking for an application that allows you to download RTMP streams, check out RTMPDumpHelper. Read on to find out how to download RTMP videos using RTMPDumpHelper. Read More
