How to fix Wi-Fi problems with iOS 15

iOS 15 is available for a long list of devices. The iPhone 6S, which was released in 2015 can be upgraded to iOS 15. It will not get all the features that the iPhone 13 will but it remains eligible for all iOS 15 updates. All iPhone models, starting from the iPhone 6S to iPhone 13 will be able to upgrade to iOS 15 however, the experience will not be the same for everyone. The one unifying factor though is bugs; most iPhone users will experience the same bugs.

  2. Press and hold the sleep/wake button.
  3. Slide the power slider off.

If your iPhone has a home button;

  2. Slide the power slider off.

If you cannot connect to a WiFi network, and it’s a network that you routinely connect to, forget the network and connect to it again. Make sure you’re near the router.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap WiFi.
  3. Tap the i icon next to your network.
  4. Tap Forget this network.
  5. Select the network again.
  6. Enter the password for it and connect.

4. Reset network settings

Reset the network settings on your iPhone. You won’t lose any data but you will need to pair Bluetooth devices and connect to WiFi networks again.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset.
  3. Tap Reset Network Settings.

5. Install iOS updates

iOS 15 has been out for a while and iOS 15.1 is now available too. If your device has had problems after the update, install the next one too. It will fix problems.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to General>Software Update.
  3. Check for and install the available update.

Conclusion

If you’ve gotten a new cover for your iPhone, check if it may be interfering with the connection. iPhone covers can, on occasion cause problems, especially if your iPhone is old. On that note, make sure your phone is charged if it’s old. A phone that’s old and low on battery may have trouble maintaining a wireless connection. If your iPhone is brand new i.e. an iPhone 13, it may be worth having it checked by Apple.
