Kodi Quantum is the successor to Kodi Sanctuary, and essentially fills the same role that its predecessor did: offering its users access to various streaming shows, sports, anime, documentaries and much, much more. It’s meant to be an all-in-one Kodi playlist add-on that offers all the content and features you could need in a single package.
Due to its nature as a successor to Sanctuary, you’ll likely notice later in the article that the repo and address you install it from still seem to be associated with Sanctuary. Don’t let this throw you off though; make sure to install Kodi Quantum instead of Sanctuary for the best experience when the time comes.
Before You Download: Get a Good VPN
Before diving into the wide world of virtually unlimited streaming video offered by the Kodi ecosystem, you’ll want to ensure that your activity and data are secure. A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, allows users to protect their anonymity by hiding their traffic from their ISP and government surveillance. VPNs are also often used to bypass location-specific restrictions, which can be a real problem when trying to access media locked to other countries. They can also be used to bypass censorship in countries where the internet is censored, as it is in China.
In the United States and other countries with strict copyright law enforcement, a VPN can also protect you from getting angry letters from your ISP or copyright holders. It can also present a worst-case scenario of service cancellation or outright legal action.
AddictiveTips does not condone or encourage any violation of copyright restrictions. Please consider the law, victims, and risks of piracy before downloading copyrighted material without permission.
By installing a VPN application on your computer and running it, you can route your Kodi traffic through your VPN. In fact, many features of the Quantum application can’t be accessed unless you’re on a VPN, so keep that in mind!
If you do opt for a VPN, also remember not to go with any “free” VPNs. Free VPN services are typically paid for by selling user data, and often aren’t even actual VPNs, meaning you can still be tracked and your data can often still be seen by snooping third parties. Always go for a trusted, paid service with VPNs.
Who’s the best?
IPVanish is one of the most popular VPN options out there due to its high streaming and download speeds, along with its low price. It’s a favorite among the Kodi streaming community as well, and is recommended by the developers of many add-ons like this one. Our recommendation stands with theirs because of its 256-bit AES encryption, DNS leak protection, and strict no-logging policy that respects your privacy. Kodi users will also appreciate:
- Access to over 850 well-maintained servers in 60 countries around the world.
- Fast, easy-to-use software for PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, even Chromebooks.
- Customer support that’s available 24/7 in case anything goes wrong.
- Unlimited bandwidth, no speed caps, and no restrictions on traffic.
On top of these all, the service supports all Kodi add-ons that we have tested.
IPvanish offers a 7-day money back guarantee which means you have a week to test it risk-free. Please note that Addictive Tips readers can save a massive 60% here on the IPVanish annual plan, taking the monthly price down to only $4.87/mo.
Make Sure You Have Unknown Sources Enabled
Since this repository comes from a non-official source, make sure that you have this option enabled in Kodi. Otherwise, the rest of this guide will be not work!
In Settings, select “System Settings.”
Now, select “Add-ons,” and make sure that “Unknown sources” is enabled, like below.
Before Installing: Get LiveResolver
Click here to download the LiveResolver zip. Place it somewhere you can navigate to it from within Kodi, like your downloads folder.
Open Kodi and head to “Add-ons.” Now, click “My add-ons” at the top of the window.
Click the “..” at the top of the window.
Now that you’re here, click “Install from zip file.”
Navigate to the folder you downloaded the zip file to. If you used your downloads folder, your path should be something like C: -> Users -> your username -> Downloads. Click the file to install LiveResolver, which Quantum relies on to work properly.
Installing The Kodi Quantum Add-on
Open Kodi. Head straight for the gear icon at the top-left of your window, which will take you into “System Settings.”
Now, select “File manager.”
Within File manager, double-click “Add source.”
Click <None>, then paste in the following URL: http://sanctuaryrepo.esy.es/sanc/
Now, you can enter a name. Since this is the Sanctuary repo, I’ve named it “Sanctuary,” but you can name it “Quantum” or whatever else you want to.
Head back to the main menu and select “Add-ons.”
Select “My add-ons.”
Now that you’re here, click the “..” at the very top. This will take you where you actually need to go for this tutorial.
Now, click “Install from zip file.”
Select “Sanctuary,” or whatever you named the media source that you created earlier in the tutorial.
Now, select the zip file within that media source to install the Sanctuary repository. This will grant you access to Quantum.
After you’ve installed the zip, head to “Install from repository.”
Select the Sanctuary repository.
Now, select Quantum and install it. You can install Sanctuary too, if you like. If you encounter an error while installing here, make sure that you have LiveResolver installed!
If you head back to your main add-ons menu, Quantum should now be present. Feel free to jump in and start watching all you like!
Overall, Kodi Quantum is a pretty powerful add-on that has earned its positive reputation. Setting it up is a little bit more complicated than some other solutions, thanks to a dependence on LiveResolver, but this is a minor drawback when you consider what you get while using the program.
If you encounter any problems at all, leave a comment below and we’ll get to you as soon as we can. Whether you need help finishing your installation, setting up your VPN service or just have a question related to Kodi, we’ll be delighted to help you!
