Manga Rock Brings Its Huge 50K+ Japanese Comics Library To Android

The sheer number of manga and anime apps available on Google Play is testimony of a fairly large user base of this Japanese art-style. Previously, we’ve covered a lot of iOS and Android manga apps for our readers, and if you’ve been an iOS user, you’ll likely be aware of Manga Rock a well-known manga reader available on the iTunes App Store. We are excited to announce that the developers have now rolled out an Android variant of the app as well, which – besides looking stunning – does a marvelous job of taking care of all your manga needs. The app focuses on letting you read manga using the integrated reader, while also providing a download option from its gargantuan library that boasts over 50K manga from 15 different sources.

The first thing you’ll notice about Manga Rock is how great it looks, and the second has got to be its huge manga collection from various popular sources including MangaFox, MangaEden, MangaHere, Demanga etc, accessible via its multilingual catalogue covering a wide array of manga in English, German, French, Italian, Chinese and Spanish. You can view all available manga on the home screen of the app. Swiping down this list keeps on revealing further content. The list can also be sorted in different ways, and you can also employ the search option for quickly finding your desired title.

Swiping your finger rightward from the left edge reveals the navigation panel, from where you access your favorites, download queue, downloads, recent additions and settings. Similarly, there’s a minuscule arrow button at the top, tapping which brings you to the filter screen. From there, you can easily narrow down your results via marking the relevant manga sources, categories (action, drama, fantasy, comedy etc.) and status (all, completed, on going). You can also sort the manga list either by rank or name. The collection of manga it offers is amazing, and bound to be praised by any manga fan. Even that aside, the app stands out on its own with its elegantly designed interface.

The description page of a manga is fairly brief and concise. It displays information like author name, chapters, status and ranking. accompanied by the manga’s cover art. You also get to see the categories and a mini description for that manga at the bottom. From the description screen, you can navigate between summary and chapters. Lastly, at the bottom, you will find buttons for view, download and (add to) favorite. The built-in manga viewer makes manga reading on smaller screens quite enjoyable, and you can swipe left and right to navigate between different manga pages or chapters.
