Create & Share Virtual Business Cards With CardFlick For iPhone

With technology advancing by leaps and bounds each passing year, paper is going out of fashion. Looks like there’s a digital alternative to almost everything these days. Books, journals, greeting cards, newspapers, you name it, the digital world has it. There was a time not so long ago when business cards were considered an important tool for spreading the word about your organization or simply for letting people stay in touch with you. However, if you are an iOS user, now you can have your own business or visiting card without having to spend even a penny. All you have to do is to get CardFlick for iPhone and start sharing your card with anyone, even if they don’t have an iPhone!

The app needs you to sign up for a new account (just your E-mail ID is requested). Once you have done that, you can begin the task of setting up your information for the card. You can choose to leave any of the fields blank. The card can be  filled out and customized from within the Settings tab. Once you have finished inputting all relevant information, hit “done”. The app comes with 12 themes that you can choose for your card. Unfortunately, no tinkering with the design is allowed. You can view your newly created card in its full size by hitting the expand/zoom button at the top-right of the screen.

Now that you are done creating your business card, you have two options for sharing it. You can either e-mail it to any of your contacts or you can flick it. ‘Flicking’ means that if another user has CardFlick installed on his or her iPhone or iPad, you can both go to the app’s Flick menu, swipe the card upwards and the other user will receive it. The flicking method does look really attractive and just for that, we recommend giving CardFlick a try. The app is available for free on the iTunes App Store.

Update: In version 1.6 of CardFlick, new location-based options have been added that allow users to view all their contacts who are currently in the vicinity. The app also offers options to create sharing groups, or you can choose to share your card with an individual. In addition to all that, CardFlick is cosmetically a much better app now and offers a whole lot more in terms of card themes and customization options.
