An iPhone or iPad is pretty useful for carrying around all sorts of documents and notes, but if you are in a hurry, it is not always possible to whip up the Notes app in iOS and type something. For such occasions, taking notes through drawing is the best and fastest option. Draw Pad Pro is an app which will let you create drawings and notes, and it also comes with the option to let you add notes to an existing photo.
The app works around the concept of Notebooks, and you can add any number of pages to a notebook. At the startup, you are prompted to create a new Notebook, as without that, no entry can be made to Draw Pad. In making a notebook, you have to enter its name, a short description (to be displayed on the title page) and the color of the book’s cover. The app also allows users to choose the appearance of the internal pages of the whole notebook, and quite a few textures/colors are provided. You can create as many notebooks as you want in this fashion.
To start adding notes to a particular notebook, go to the homepage and tap the notebook icon. Once you choose the Add Pages option, you are ready to go. There aren’t too many options in Draw Pad Pro for sketching, but it is enough to get the job done quickly. To start drawing, just select the Dot toll from the bottom bar, which will also let you choose the thickness of the line you want to draw. The option to the left of it is there for choosing the color of your drawings. If you make a mistake, there is the eraser for that, located last in the options list. The most useful feature of Draw Pad Pro is its ability to import photos. You can then choose the transparency of the image, which can be useful if you want to trace a shape in the photo, or would just like to add some notes to it. If you want to add a new page to the notebook, tap the ‘+’ button, otherwise just go to the homepage and all the modified pages will appear in the notebook. You can create a PDF file from any notebook or its individual page, and in addition to that, the app provides you with an option to save pages as photos.
Drawing Pad Pro has been around in the App Store for more than a month, but if you hurry, you can get this otherwise paid app ($1.99) for free.
