Set Any Image As A Splash Screen With BootFlash For Android

It seems as if enthusiastic Android developers are not going to leave any stone unturned to make the world’s leading smartphone OS (as of this writing) customizable to the very max. If you are one of those fanatic Android users who love customizing their devices, then here is another app for you designed by XDA-Developers member SoCal Devs. BootFlash allows you to change your splash screen as frequently as you like from the images stored in your device. Currently, the app supports just a handful of devices but there is a promise to add some more names to the list very soon.

Why bear the same old splash screen on every reboot of your device when you can place an image of your own? BootFlash is a simple but effective little app that sports a very subtle interface. Tapping a solitary “Install a custom splash screen” button leads you to the device gallery from where you can select any image that you prefer to be displayed as the splash screen. According to the developer, the app can consume as much as 1 Megabyte of storage space each time you decide to change the splash screen of your device. Also, the developer does not assume any responsibility in case your device experiences glitches or complete breakdown while because of BootFlash. Currently, the app comes with the support for following devices:

  • HTC Inspire 4G
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC Vision
  • HTC ThunderBolt
  • HTC G2
  • HTC Desire Z
  • HTC Droid Incredible
  • HTC Evo 4G

You can try BootFlash if you have any of the devices listed above. While BoolFlash Lite places a watermark effect on your splash screen, the Pro (paid) version doesn’t. Market links to BootFlash Lite and BootFlash Pro are provided below. The app was successfully tested by placing a custom splash screen on our rooted HTC Desire Z (running CyanogenMod 7.1 Custom ROM).

Note: BootFlash works only with rooted devices. Learn more about rooting your device by following our detailed guide.
