The new Kids Club addon is available on the Gentec repository. This relatively new source for addons has already spawned the Rogue addon which we have already reviewed. That one incorporated some of Kids Cave into its all-in-one offerings, but the full addon is well-worth downloading as there is lots to explore.

Find out more about that below, but for now, here is our simple step-by-step guide on how to download and install the Kids Cave Kodi addon from the Gentec Repository onto your Kodi system:

1. Open Kodi and click on the Settings icon. This resembles a gear wheel and is located in the top left of the screen.
2. Click the File Manager tab which is located at the bottom of the screen, and then double-click on Add Source which is on the left-hand side of your screen.
3. In the pop-up box called Add File Source which appears, click where it says <None> and then enter the following URL exactly: https://gen-tec.co/gentecwiz. Click OK and then give this new source a name, such as GenTec, before clicking OK again.
4. Now return to the Kodi home page and this time click on Addons.

The Kids Cave Kodi addon has an awful lot going for it. But there are still a few areas where the developers could make easy-to-implement improvements which would vastly improve the usability. The addon does warn that each menu tab will load slowly the first time you click on it. They are not wrong. This is a common feature with many Kodi addons but was especially noticeable with Kids Cave. However, to their credit, once you have got a menu tab open, the whole thing does speed up considerably and slow loading is not a problem from that point on. But first time out, patience is definitely needed.

For an app to be easy to use, it is vital that it is easy to navigate to the content you are looking for. This requires two things in most Kodi addons: a clearly labelled menu and an easily searched list of content. Kids Cave can definitely offer the former but lets itself down badly with the latter. Submenu options with titles like List One, List Two, and List Three offer no hint as to what they might contain. And inside these lists come a random series of content which isn’t broken down by genre, or alphabetised, or anything. This makes finding specific content hugely frustrating at times. It is a simple issue to fix, but it is a great pity the developers didn’t address it in the first place.

When it comes to actually playing content on Kids Cave, the user experience is a pretty positive one. Users do not have to try and choose specific streams, but rather just select the quality of playback they want. Content then generally loads pretty quickly and in our testing, the quality of playback always matched the description we selected. We also didn’t come across any broken links which is a great bonus in any Kodi addon.

Conclusions

There is definitely a gap in the market for a top-quality dedicated children’s addon at the moment. Kids Cave has the potential to be the one to fill that gap, but it doesn’t quite hit the heights yet. The range of content and playback experience is extensive. But navigating around the addon can be extremely frustrating and it is only the inclusion of an effective search facility that saves it in this regard. It can also be slow at times too, but once you actually find what you are after, it becomes easy to use and offers high-quality streams. The developers do not need to do much to make this into a really top-drawer kids addon. It’s not quite there yet. But is still worth downloading if you have kids of any age who like to stream content online.
