Customize Or Remove iOS Screenshot Flash With IsMyFlash [Cydia Tweak]

There are a few fundamental features of iOS that aren’t given a lot of attention. Take screenshots as an example. Whenever you take a screenshot on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, there is always that familiar flash on the screen, which lets you know that the current screen has been successfully captured. You might not have given much thought to it, but a developer from the Cydia store has. IsMyFlash is a jailbreak tweak using which you can make a few interesting changes to the way the aforementioned screenshot flash appears on your screen. The tweak serves a dual purpose. It is possible to change the colour of the screen capture flash using IsMyFlash, but in addition to that you can also choose to display a notification every time a screenshot is captured successfully.

IsMyFlash Message IsMyFlash

As mentioned before, with IsMyFlash, you can perform two basic functions. One is the changing of the color of the flash, and the other is setting up a custom message to appear each time a screenshot is taken. The tweak, after it has been installed, can be found in the Extensions tab of the Settings menu. You can start using the tweak to customize the screenshot flash once you’ve enabled it from here.

The color can be changed from the Flash Color menu in the tweak’s settings. Said menu provides you with a sufficient variety of colors, but if you’d rather use your own, you can do so from within the Custom Color menu. One clever use of the tweak could be to get rid of the screenshot flash altogether. You can do so by selecting the Clear option from within the Flash Color menu. This just might be the best option of presented by IsMyFlash.

If you want, you can set a confirmatory popup to appear on the screen after each flash. You can turn the message part of the tweak (Display message) on or off independent of the flash color. The tweak lets you edit the text of both the title and body of the notification.

The results of changing the color of the flash are pretty attractive, though the custom message seems like too much of a bother, especially if you take screenshots regularly. IsMyFlash is available for free in the Big Boss repo, and while it might not be the most through screenshot flash customization option out there, it certainly is one of the most convenient and easy to configure.
