T-Mobile myTouch 4G Gingerbread ROM Leaked For Download [How To Guide]

myTouch-4gBack in May, a leak of a test Gingerbread ROM surfaced for the myTouch 4G and now we have another Gingerbread leak, which is rumored to be the final build that T-Mobile is said to be rolling out as OTA updates for the myTouch 4G. Credit goes to XDA-Developers forum member Football for releasing this for all of us!

Now if you’re wondering what this updates brings, the answer would be, nothing new apparently. The ROM is still based on Sense 2.1 and while it might have some bug fixes or more, there is no vivid change. Instead, there is new radio that has been integrated into this ROM, and it is creating more hype on the XDA forums than the ROM itself. The version numbers are 2.19.531.1 for the ROM and 12.58.60.25_26.11.04.03 for the Radio. Flash this ROM and you WILL loose any root access you might have had previously for sure. So if you wish to try this ROM out or are not a fan or rooting your myTouch 4G, here’s how you can install this ROM on your myTouch 4G.

  1. I need to ask some dummy questions…. Do I have to extract the files or should I leave the .zip file in my SD? Where should I place the .zip or extracted files, just paste it to the SD as is or do I have to create a folder or extract/paste to an existing folder?
