Get Unread Email Count And Launch Web Mail With Unity Mail Count

Unity Mail Count is a Unity Launcher indicator and web mail launcher which displays the count of unread emails in your Inbox and allow launching your webmail from Unity launcher quick list in your default browser. It works with IMAP-4 compatible servers and provides support for multiple accounts.

Unity Mail Count can be installed by entering the following commands in Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mitya57/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install unity-mail

Once done, drag and drop the Unity Mail Count shortcut from the Dash to the Unity Launcher to create a shortcut. You can use the quick list to launch Compose Mail, Inbox, Sent Messages and Configuration.


Clicking on Change Account Details will allow you to setup a mail account by entering the host server URL,  port and login credentials.

Once you have configured your account, you will get unread mail count from your Unity launcher. Currently there is no package available for Unity Mail Count, however, you can find out more about development updates from the Launchpad link given below.
