Google Books Lens Allows Searching For Books From Unity Launcher

In the past, we reviewed both Gwibber and Unity Place File Search Lens for Ubuntu Unity. This time we have yet another Ubuntu lens for your launcher. Google Books Lens is a Unity launcher lens for Google Books users, which provides easy search for books, authors and topics for locating books via Google Books.

To install Google Books Lens, open a Terminal window and enter the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:davidc3/books-lens

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install unity-books-lens

Once you have installed the lens, log out and log back in for the changes to take effect. The lens is displayed in two parts, the first part shows books from Google Books according to your entered key word, whereas, the second part shows relevant information regarding the entered word from Wikipedia. You can launch the lens anytime from the launcher or by hitting the Win+B hotkey.

In case you would like to remove the Google Books or any installed lens, see our guide here.
